PENN
HILLS SOCCER
ASSOCIATION TO: P.O.
Box 27095 Penn
Hills, PA 15235 Letter
from the PHSA Board
Dear Parents and Players, On behalf of the PHSA, we
would like to say hello to our new comers and welcome back to our returning
players and parents. Our 2010/11 season was fantastic, both fun and
educational, and we all look forward to making this year even better! The PHSA is run completely by
volunteers, including the board members, and we rely on all our volunteers
for a smooth operation. We are
grateful to anyone who could spare a few hours. It only takes a few hours a month, if that,
and makes the world of difference for our children. Please stop by the PHSA Board tent to sign
up for vacant Board positions or to volunteer for many other activities still
needing a helping hand. If you have any questions,
concerns, or comments, please contact any Board Member at the email addresses
listed, anytime from our new website at www.PennHillsSoccer.Org,
or simply stop by the PHSA Board tent any Saturday during the season. Sincerely, PHSA Board PHSA Board Member Directory

● All registered coaches must complete the Kidsafe Disclosure Application (KDA), or provide a copy of their valid Act 33/34. The KDA fee is $10, and is available from the PA West website at: https://ssl.hammersoccer.com/pawkidsafe/RiskUser.asp For more information, please contact Jen Spicer coaching@pennhillssoccer.org
● The $10 KDA fee will be reimbursed by PHSA once the background check is completed, received and reviewed by the PHSA Risk Management Committee. The Committee will contact any person privately to discuss any unfavorable report. All information pertaining to this is held strictly confidential.
● All coaches are required to sign in every Saturday at the PHSA Board Tent prior to your scheduled games. Any handouts and related PHSA information will be given to all coaches upon signing in. Please disseminate to all players and parents. You are the source of information for most parents, so please help them stay informed.
● All coaches (and parents) are encouraged to participate in the PA West Soccer Coaching Program's licensing courses as a way to improve their knowledge and add to their bag of tricks. The State Youth "Y" level certification is a 6 hour course designed to provide coaches with a basic knowledge of methodology, team administration, risk reduction, child characteristics and a wide variety of fun coaching activities. There is a U6/U8 module and also a U10/U12 module. If you have not already done so, please consider signing up for one or both of the modules at http://pennhillssoccer.org/CoachingClinics.htm. The course is provided free of charge to both coaches AND parents. This is one thing the Penn Hills Soccer Association can do for YOU!

We will be holding our 18th Autumn Ambush this year. We have teams from all over the tri-state area that come to Penn Hills to participate. If you have a team that is interested please contact Kim or Carl Anderson at pfcv5959cfa@aol.com. The tournament will be held Thanksgiving weekend, beginning Friday, November 26th through Sunday the 28nd. Sponsors for each age group will be needed ($150.00 donation), which will get your name in the program and on the trophy of the age group you are sponsoring. This is our only fundraiser of the year and we would appreciate any and all donations.
All money rose through team fees, concession stand, donations and ads for the booklet help keep the cost down for all children who play in-house soccer. Again, THANK YOU to all that helped with the tournament. We look forward to running another super tournament next season! Planning for this year’s tournament is just a few months away, and will need parents to volunteer to help. Please volunteer your time to the PHSA.
Donations of drinks, chips and other items are needed! Please help by dropping off donations at the PHSA Board Tent during any Saturday before the tournament. "If everyone does a small amount, it all adds up to a lot"
